what do you use to download free music and videos?

I just bought an ipod and i was wondering what programs do you use to download music. Also can someone explain to me how you download a video? Like for example i wanna download the movie The Dark Knight.

It sounds like a new song. I heard it on satellite radio when I was shopping in Houston. Female singer, she does not have a deep voice. It is an upbeat rock/pop song. Oh, and it is not Duffy. The lyrics go:
Come on come on
Wherever you are
This pain is tearing me apart
Stop fooling around with my heart
You got me. You got me.
Also, it sounds like a white girl though she may be black and have a higher tone like Rihanna.
I think the song is on the US or UK Top 40 now.
Please help me! Thanks.

I know this sounds stupid but i cannot figure out any up-tempo songs for my upcoming audition and i think its because i am not sure how fast a song needs to be considered up tempo. I also wanted some examples of up tempo songs in my range (alto) to look at.
